Account and Licensing

Dynomate and AWS accounts

Dynomate uses two separate types of account:

  • Your Dynomate account controls the trial, subscription, license seats, and device activation.
  • Your AWS identity controls access to AWS accounts, Regions, and DynamoDB tables.

A Dynomate account is required to activate the app and continue past the pre-activation limit. Dynomate does not store your AWS access keys in your Dynomate account.

Activate Dynomate

  1. Open the License dialog.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Select Submit.
  4. Enter the six-digit code from the email.
  5. Select Sign In.

Dynomate can open before you sign in. It prompts for activation after the first work tab. It blocks work at four work tabs or after about 60 minutes, whichever happens first. Settings tabs do not count as work tabs.

Trial and access levels

The 14-day trial starts from the account creation time. It includes all Dynomate features. If the account has no paid license when the trial ends, it moves to Community access.

Access level Work tabs AWS profile support Request collections
14-day trial Unlimited Access key, MFA, SSO, and local Included
Community Up to two Access key, MFA, and local Not included
Indie Unlimited Access key, MFA, and local Not included
Professional Unlimited Access key, MFA, SSO, and local Included
Enterprise Unlimited Access key, MFA, SSO, and local Included

SSO means AWS IAM Identity Center authentication. MFA means multi-factor authentication with a six-digit code. A local profile connects to a local endpoint such as DynamoDB Local or LocalStack.

License activation

A paid subscription provides one or more license seats. A license seat is assigned to a user and activated on a device.

When you sign in, Dynomate tries to activate the best available seat for your account. If all seats are in use, ask the subscription owner to free or reassign a seat. Use the License dialog to refresh the status after a purchase or seat change.

Access verification

Dynomate periodically verifies trial and license access online. It allows up to seven days between successful checks. If it cannot verify access after that time, it uses Community access until verification succeeds.

Connect to the internet and select Refresh status in the License dialog to retry the check.
