Global Search

Global Search opens a loaded resource in a new Dynomate tab. It searches resources that Dynomate has already discovered or loaded.

Supported results

ResultSearchable contextAction
DynamoDB tableTable name, AWS profile, and RegionOpen the table tab
Athena tableTable, database, catalog, profile, Region, and accountOpen the Athena query tab

Global Search does not create a request. It also does not search item values inside every table. Use Query, Scan filters, the table search shortcut, or JSON Inspector search for data inspection. Use Logs to search operation and AWS activity.

Search context

DynamoDB and Athena entries come from the current discovery data. If a resource is missing, open table discovery, select the correct profile and Region, then load the resources again. Request results come from the collection folders that Dynomate currently tracks. Snapshot results only include artifacts that are available on disk.

Limits

  • An empty search shows up to 200 entries.
  • A text search returns up to 100 matches.
  • Search does not contact AWS as you type.
  • Unavailable SQL snapshots do not appear.
